RESEARCH AND EXTENDED PROGRAMS

Research Administration and Contract Administration

Hornet Bookstore, Suite 3400
(916) 278-7565
www.csus.edu/research

The Office of Research Administration and Contract Administration (RACA) supports faculty in their quest for external financial support for research projects and program development initiatives. We provide proposal development and submission assistance as well as research, coordination, compliance, and outreach. On behalf of the University, we submit faculty grant and contract proposals and we accept and administer the awards and contractual agreements that result. We also coordinate the Institutional Review Board (IRB), which is comprised of committees that oversee the protection of human subjects and regulate animal care reviews. In addition, the office works closely with the Faculty Senate on awarding internal research and creative activity funds to faculty.

RACA is a partnership between Academic Affairs and University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI), the primary campus auxiliary. Academic Affairs staff provide faculty with proposal development assistance as well as support for other scholarly and creative activities. Our UEI colleagues accept and administer the awards faculty receive from federal, state, and private sponsors. Together, University and UEI staff work in teams to support campus and faculty initiatives and we also serve as liaisons to the local, state, and federal funding agencies that provide funding for the research, teaching, and service priorities of the University community.

To qualify for admission to the International Programs, students must have upper division or graduate standing at a CSU campus by the time of departure. Students at the sophomore level may, however, participate in the intensive language acquisition programs in Canada, France, Germany, Korea, and Mexico. California Community Colleges transfer students are eligible to apply directly from their community colleges. Students must also possess a current cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or 3.0, depending on the program for which they apply. Some programs also have language study and/or other coursework prerequisites.
